Magazine Draft
Final Magazine
I have edited our magazine further as there were some elements that I wanted to change; one of these was the location and size of the title. As the background image was fairly dark this meant that on the draft magazine we had to make the title smaller so it was visible, however for the final magazine I changed the colour of the typography so it would be clearer for the audience to see it. This allowed me to be able to make the title larger and more central to the magazine, which I have found to be important from my research. Just below the title I have added the tagline, which links to all of our pieces therefore gives the magazine a stronger marketing campaign and it will be more successful in advertising the film. Another technique I used to improve the publicity of the magazine was by adding a review in quotation marks, if the review is promising it may encourage people to watch the film, the review on the magazine also makes the magazine look more legitimate as lots of magazines feature quotes about the film. At the bottom left of the magazine I have tried to attract the audiences attention by including a buzzword and offering a free poster inside, once again I have found this to be common for magazine covers. Finally at the very bottom of the magazine below where it says “Three amazing exclusives”, I have made the images of the films larger as previously I felt that they were too small and hard for the audience to recognise. If someone is anticipating the release of any of the films at the bottom they might buy the magazine, which could result in them reading about our film and wanting to watch it.
Poster Draft
Final Poster
After looking at audience feedback Joe has decided to improve the poster in order to appeal to them and to improve the overall look of the poster. Firstly the sizing on the draft poster looked wrong. This is because on a professional poster they're sized differently. He decided to make the effects on the poster darker as although people liked it, it was not conventional to other posters as they're much darker which is what he has achieved here. The colour of the text needed to be changed as the actors names were not visible and due to the poster becoming darker in order to see the billing block the colour needed to be changed. The font has been changed for the title because after looking at professional posters their fonts seemed to be more bold and eye catching, which the new one achieves. The addition of more production companies at the bottom of the poster add to the authenticity of it and make it look more like existing media products for example Momentum and Dolby.
